The lesson program at Apple Tree Farm is open to all ages and abilities. English balance seat instruction lessons are offered as private and small groups to beginning students. Students are grouped according to ability and age and are matched with one of several school horses/ponies. Lessons are also available to more advanced riders in dressage, cross-country, and Stadium jumping for riders that have their own horses or those that use one of ours. Apple Tree Farm has an active group of event riders who can be seen competing at events throughout Area 1. There are opportunities for all students to compete at a variety of different competitions, which are designed to accommodate different levels of competitors. Lessons are offered on Tuesday through Saturday. Coaching is available at many events throughout the season. As part of their lesson, students learn how to brush and properly saddle and bridle the horse (riders need to arrive early and plan to stay late to groom and tack/untack their horse). Many students also choose to learn about horse care by helping out around the barn before or after their lessons. Prices subject to change without notice.

Cancellation Policy (04/05) - Lesson cancellation policy applies to all students. We require a minimum of 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will be charged for that lesson and no makeup will be given. If a lesson is cancelled due to inclement weather, or illness, then the student will take a makeup at a different time than their regularly scheduled lesson. Makeup lessons must be taken within 60 days of missed lessons.
It is the student’s responsibility to call to schedule makeups. You may not apply your makeup lesson as credit in the next month, you must pay full fee for the month.
Rain Cancellation Policy (4/08) - Just a reminder, if the weather is questionable call the barn. We will change the answering machine by 2:30 if lessons are going to be canceled for the afternoon. If it is cold plus drizzle we usually cancel. If it is warm and drizzly then we have lessons (usually). Any thunderstorms we always cancel. If your lesson is in the morning I will call you directly. You will be able to schedule makeup's for lessons missed due to rain.
